چکیده
ba c k g r o u nd: skin metastases occur in 1-5% of solid tumors and are rarely the presenting sign of internal malignancies. certain features in skin lesions raise suspicion of metastasis from solid tumors. c a s e presentation: in this article a 61-year-old woman is presented with erythematous skin nodules in upper abdomen and chest. histopathological evaluation of lesions suggested metastatic carcinoma and a thorough search found stomach signet cell adenocarcinoma and breast lobular carcinoma. immunohistochemical staining confirmed diagnosis of lobular carcinoma with metastasis developed in skin and stomach. c o n c lusions: clinicians must be aware that malignancies can present by skin metastases. since breast and stomach cancer can both metastasize to skin, immunohistochemistry evaluation is of great importance to diagnose the primary tumor.

متن کاملOccult Breast Carcinoma Presenting as Gastrointestinal Metastases
Occult breast cancer has frequently been described as presenting as axillary lymph node metastases but rarely as gastrointestinal metastases, Varadarajan et al. (2007). In extremely rare situations, cancerous lesions identified in the gastrointestinal tract have been determined to be metastatic lesions from primary breast cancers, Taal et al. (2000). We report a case of an occult lobular adenoc...

BACKGROUND For years, the treatment for invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) has been mastectomy secondary to the lack of studies investigating the efficacy of breast conservation therapy on patients afflicted with ILC and due to the lack of long-term follow up investigating locoregional recurrence in this patient population. In this article we report the clinical course of a patient diagnosed with...
